The Brand

Bossy Power Bottom Wear was founded by Bossy Power Bottom Productions CEO Raoni Washburn as a merchandise line following the success of his podcast, which began to peak in popularity in 2022.

Unlike typical podcast merchandise that often features just the show’s logo or pictures of the host—items that most fans wouldn’t want to buy—Raoni envisioned something different. He drew inspiration from his love for Pride season and created a unique concept for his podcast merch: Pride festival wear. Imagine being at any Pride festival worldwide and spotting someone whose looks and physique catch your eye. You can't help but be intrigued not only by their appearance but also by the bold and cheeky statement emblazoned across the front of their shirt, accentuating their muscular frame. That was the vibe Raoni wanted to capture, and many of the original pieces are still available today, reflecting that same feel.

This fresh approach resonated with audiences, and Bossy Power Bottom Wear has grown beyond a simple podcast merch line. It has evolved into a vibrant and unapologetic expression of gay culture.

Meet Raoni Washburn, The Founder & CEO

Raoni Washburn is a writer, LGBTQ+ community activist, self-proclaimed messy, loudmouthed, and somewhat semi-passable multi-podcast producer and host, the founder and CEO of Bossy Power Bottom Productions, Poppers Sommolier, pornstar fluffer in training and local San Francisco Bossy Power Bottom that just so happens to be on the left of you on your Grindr grid.

In 2015, Raoni relocated from Sacramento, California, where he was born and raised (otherwise known as the armpit of California), to the beautiful city of San Francisco and instantly fell in love with a city where he felt free to express his one true, authentic gay self. After a messy divorce from his then-husband, who initially brought him to SF, he found himself newly single in a city that he was excited to get to know but knew almost nothing about. This is the moment where Raoni began what he refers to as his "Gay Walk Of Shame" era, an era where he got very well acquainted with gay hookup culture in San Francisco and all of that “one big giant cluster-fuck” of confusion, mind-blowing sex, awkward sexual encounters, and pretty much any other crazy situation that one may find themselves involved in while trying to maneuver through said gay hookup culture.

In 2020, bored out of his mind in the pandemic lockdown, Raoni decided to share many of these crazy sex stories with the world. On July 2nd, 2020, "My Gay Expose Podcast" was born. The title, a play on the word 'expose,’ reflects Raoni's intention to share his crazy and outlandish personal experiences and insights about the San Francisco gay community, with emphasis on the less talked about aspects of gay hookup culture (otherwise known as the shit that everyone is going through but never talks about).

While inexperienced in the podcasting world and very green initially, Raoni took that podcast over the years and brought it to a level he did not foresee ever happening. My Gay Expose Podcast reached a peak of recognition at number 14 of the top 100 best LGBTQ+ podcasts of all time and has since opened the doors to this said "Bossy Power Bottom Wear" line as well as the founding of his production company known as "Bossy Power Bottom Productions," that is now responsible for multiple podcast productions, this clothing line that boldly expresses the gay sentiment in today's gay society, but has also since launched Raoni's career path into the trajectory of building what he refers to as his "Bossy Power Bottom Empire."
